The government of Canada has a great story about how Haitian children for adoption have finalized their adoptions and are settling in a new country with a family to love and take care of them. Today is the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti which killed something like 200,000 Haitians and left almost as many homeless. These homeless are still living in squalid conditions in tents and shanties all over the capital city. It is heart-breaking, and so to see a good news clip like this makes us feel that despite the overwhelming situation, some good people are doing a lot to ease the suffering. There is still lots more to be done, and we could all take a part in helping. Contact local organizations to see what is available to be done to help. We can do this.
