Filipino children in San Diego County at higher risk for Kawasaki disease, study finds

I had never heard of Kawasaki disease (KD) before reading this article, but apparently Filipino children are at a higher risk for this disease than other ethnicities. The symptoms are fever and rash, red eyes and swollen glands in the neck, the hands and feet become red and swollen, and red, cracked lips. If left untreated, it could develop into damaged blood vessels and heart damage.

So, it is quite serious. It is something that parents of Filipino descent should be aware of.
