The situation in Haiti is heart-wrenching. Hundreds of children and elderly pour into St. Nicholas Hospital with cholera. The hospital is so full that triage areas are located outside on wooden benches. Aid organizations are assisting in this crisis, and you can read more about it here: CNN news. Meanwhile scientists are trying to solve the prematurity puzzle. Why are some infants born premature? What other conditions do premature infants gain susceptibility to, like cerebral palsy or autism. These are just interesting tidbits of news. It is good to keep up with what is happening in the world around us.
